Janice Andersen, PT

Janice Anderson graduated Magna Cum Laude from St. Louis University in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy. Having been a member of the American Physical Therapy Association since she was a student, she has also served on the Judicial committee of the Indiana chapter. She has worked in Indiana, Maryland and Arizona in many different types of settings, including being the neck and shoulder specialist in a hand clinic, occasional contracts with nursing homes or home health and even a correctional center, in acute care hospitals, sub-acute ce nters, and outpatient clinics. She established an outpatient clinic in Indiana that was the first one to be certified by Medicare in a fitness center in that state.

Her accomplishments include having an article published the journal Medical Problems of Performing Artists, presenting at the national conference of Medical Problems of Musicians and Dancers to physicians and therapists, being listed in multiple Who's Who publications, and frequent awards from community organizations. Service to her community has been an important part of her life, and she currently continues to serve as an advisory board member for Saddles of Joy, a therapeutic horseback riding program for special needs children and adults. Her areas of interest and special training include but are not limited to shoulder and hand treatment, static splinting, vestibular rehabilitation, and kinesiotaping for edema and orthopedic issues.

Outside of work she enjoys being involved in her church, singing in choirs, playing her flute, and horseback riding.
