Stephen Desjardins, OTR, CHT (Certified Hand Therapist)

Stephen graduated from the University of Southern Alabama in 1996 with a degree in Occupational Therapy and worked in an inpatient rehabilitation center with patients with neurological disorders until moving to Arizona in 2000. He worked in the Maricopa Medical Center's Burn Unit for 1.5 years, then began focusing more of his attention on outpatient orthopedics. Stephen received his Certification in Hand Therapy in 2007 and specializes in the evaluation and treatment of patients with hand and upper extremity disorders. When not at work, he enjoys playing soccer, hiking, biking and playing the guitar.

LaNora A. Riley, PT, DPT, CSCS

LaNora is a Native to Arizona, and is one of the lucky people in the world that feels she has found her true calling in life; helping others. She started her college education attending Phoenix Community College. LaNora earned her Bachelor of Science degree at Northern Arizona University. She has her Masters of Physical Therapy and Doctorate of Physical Therapy from NAU. She is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, and is currently working on her certification as a Spinal Manipulation Therapist.

Becoming a physical therapist has been a challenging and fruitful road where she has embraced one opportunity after the other. One high point on this road was working with NASA through a research grant. This earned her the honor of being the only student from Arizona to present her work at the 10th National Conference on undergraduate research. While pursuing her Bachelors and Masters degrees, she took on roles as the President of the Assoc. of Future Physical Therapist and President of NAU's chapter of The Golden Key National Honor Society. She also organized and volunteered for various charitable events. LaNora has shown passion and diligence in everything she does. This is evident by the fact that in doing all of the above, she was also able to graduate Magna Cum Laude. This passion has carried over into her professional career. As a physical therapist she has successfully worked with and helped people from all walks of life, such as police officers, firefighters, retirees, athletes, and children. She has been with IHPT since 2006 at the Banner Estrella office.

In her free time she likes to collect rocks, crystals, and wind chimes. She enjoys trips to Sedona, learning about alternative medicine, and visiting with family and friends. LaNora's first love, however, is spending quality time with husband (DJ), and son (Austin).

Sarah Marx, DPT

Sarah Marx graduated from A.T. Still University with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2009. She has a special interest in working with the geriatric population as well as with conditions of the upper extremity. Sarah has been a member of the APTA since beginning physical therapy school and continues to enjoy furthering her knowledge with continuing education courses regarding orthopedic conditions and manual therapy. When not at work, she prefers to stay very active training for marathons, rock climbing and doing yoga.

Michelle Garza, PT, DPT

Michelle Garza is an Arizona native who received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from Northern Arizona University in 2004. She has been a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) since graduation and enjoys continued learning. Since graduation, she has worked in a geriatric outpatient setting with experience in musculoskeletal injuries, chronic pain, spinal disorders, gait, balance, vestibular and post-surgical rehabilitation. With 6 years of experience, Michelle continues to expand her clinical expertise by attending continuing education courses in order to provide the best and most current treatment options to her patients. Michelle loves to exercise, travel and continually learn.

Veronica Estrada, Front Office

Veronica Estrada has been doing physical therapy since 2001. She enjoys helping people. Outside of work, she dedicates her time to her family, which includes her two boys.

As one of the owners of IHPT, Steve, who has been a physical therapist since 1994, provides direction and leadership to the IHPT staff. Steve received his degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Wisconsin at Madison and immediately left the cold North for sunny Arizona.

I graduated in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biology. I have been working in the physical therapy industry since 1999. I have worked in departments from billing to front office to PT and OT technicians. I really enjoy working in a physical therapy clinic. I especially enjoy working for IHPT. This company really appreciates their employees and patients and I look forward to working here for many years to come.
